About Us
When we were younger, it seems we all felt an insatiable sense of adventure, of discovery around every corner. I know that for myself, growing up on Prince Edward Island, summers seemed endless, a vast stretch of sea and sky that not only shaped the place I called home, but that shaped me into who I am today. It was a sense of connection that’s hard to describe, one where self, and society, and nature all seemed to make sense together.
And yet, I feel that this sort of connection is exactly what so many of us are missing in our modern lives. In an age of smartphones and social media that is supposed to bring us together, people have never felt more apart. Phones have become a chain of our choosing, but the problem is that so many people don’t seem to realize what they’re losing when their connection is only screen deep.
And so, I wanted to stop the texting, start the talking, and bring it back to basics. I wanted to give people a chance to take risks, move outside their comfort zone, and to define themselves on their own terms. You see, we all wear masks of our making, but here, if only for one night, I want people to have the chance to drop the mask, and show the world who they truly are.
What we offer isn’t radical. What we offer isn’t novel. Instead, what we offer is something real. It's the search for self, and truth, and voice, amidst all the fear and uncertainty that so often holds us back. Because isn’t that what we’re all really looking for in the end?
Forging your own path is never an easy task, nor should it be. We are all on our journeys, filled with endless intersections and countless wrong turns. It’s enough to make you wonder who you really are, and whether you’re going the right way. But the first step in finding yourself, is recognizing that you’re lost. So join us, and let’s get lost together.
